Seven Labours of Liberty
هفت خان آزادی

Seven Labours of Liberty is an original multidisciplinary theatrical production written and directed by Nakta Pahlevan that reimagines the epic structure of the Shahnameh to examine contemporary Iranian history through the performing arts. Integrating theater, movement, music, and multimedia, the work traces more than four decades of collective memory, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of freedom. Rather than recounting historical events alone, the production explores the human experiences that shape identity, belonging, and hope. Created as both an artistic work and a cultural dialogue, Seven Labours of Liberty invites audiences from diverse backgrounds to engage with universal questions of justice, dignity, and resilience while introducing them to the richness of Persian storytelling traditions. Through an immersive theatrical language, the production demonstrates how contemporary performance can preserve cultural memory, foster empathy, and encourage meaningful cross-cultural conversation.
TehrAngeles
تهرانجلس

TehrAngeles is an original bilingual musical that explores the lives, aspirations, and evolving identities of the Iranian diaspora in Los Angeles. Blending English and Persian with music, humor, and dramatic storytelling, the production examines themes of immigration, cultural belonging, generational change, and the negotiation of multiple identities within a multicultural society. Designed to resonate with both Iranian and non-Iranian audiences, the work uses the stage as a space for cultural exchange, inviting audiences to discover shared human experiences through the lens of one community's story. By celebrating language, tradition, and contemporary perspectives, TehrAngeles contributes to a broader understanding of immigrant narratives while demonstrating the power of the performing arts to strengthen community, encourage dialogue, and build cultural bridges.
